1)미나리아재비과의 유래(Origin of Buttercup family)

미나리아재비의 ‘미나리’는 미나리와 닮았다는 말에 유래하고, ‘아재비’는 아저씨의 낮춤말로 호명된 식물과 닮았다는 뜻에 유래.

35속 1,500종으로 전세계에 걸쳐 분포되어 있으며 주로 온대와 아한대에서 잘 자라는 식물이다. 

우리나라에서는 21종 106종이 자라는데 전국 각지에 야생하며 산과 들에서 볼 수 있다.

3) 미나리아재비과의 개화(Flowering of Buttercup family)

 

꽃의 형태는 총상꽃차례를 이루며 양성화 또는 정제화 형태이다. 

좌우대칭으로 몸의 중심점을 지나는 어떤 면을 잘라도 서로 같은 반으로 나눌 수 있다. 

꽃잎처럼 생긴 꽃받침조각과 꽃잎은 3개 이상으로 달리는데, 꽃잎은 퇴화하여 없는 경우도 있다. 

꽃자루가 있어 잘 발달되거나 퇴화한 꿀샘이 있으며 암술과 수술은 많은 수로 구성되어있으며 서로 떨어져있다. 꽃밥은 안으로 굽고, 씨방은 여러 개의 심피로 구성되며, 열매는 골돌, 삭과, 장과 등이다.

• 삭과 : 열매 속이 여러 칸으로 나뉘어져서, 각 칸 속에 많은 종자가 들어있는 열매의 구조를 말한다.
• 장과 : 과육(果肉) 부분에 수분이 많고, 연한 조직으로 되어 있는 열매로, 액과(液果)의 일종

4)미나리아재비과의 특징(Characteristics of Buttercup family)

대부분 한해살이풀이거나 여러해살이풀이지만 드물게 관목이 있고 땅을 기는 덩굴성 식물도 있다.

독성을 지니고 있는 식물이 많으며,  전체에 흰 털이 난다. 

잎은 깊게 3~5갈래로 갈라지지만 홑잎(단엽)이다.
